I plead contemporary insanity. Honesty is the best policy but insanity is the best defense.

I can’t get over this song by Sam Smith. While the lyrics are of a standard love song variety, the production behind “Safe With Me” transforms it into something else.
The layers of sound are pretty unbelievable—a kind of surrealist, hip hop start and then comes a heavy pop bass followed by the hand claps that almost sound like fingers snapping. Then there’s the electronic echo coupled with Smith’s raw, graveled voice.
"Safe With Me" straddles genres intricately, it’s hard to know if you’re immersing yourself in an electronica hip hop ballad or maybe a kind of synthpop love song.
Regardless, I can’t stop listening.

Ken Regan was a well known music photographer in the 1960s and 70s. He died of cancer last week.
Granted, there’s no shortage of Rolling Stones photos in the world. But how often does Mick Jagger write personal book introductions for photographers?
“As Ken would accompany us on our tours, it just so happened that I would end up accompanying him on his gigs as well,” Jagger writes.
Regan’s reputation was such that, with his kind of access, even the Rolling Stones would call on him for favors.
